Evil Pea captures Supertato!

Shocking news in reception this morning! The children really want to save Supertato, before he's turned to mash! We decided to make some posters to stick up around school so that everyone can be on the look out for him!

Supertato!

After reading 'Supertato, run, veggies, run' reception were inspired to make their own vegetable superheroes. 

First we had to decide which veg we wanted to use, and the resources we needed to make our superheroes.

As we've been looking at measuring things in reception, some children decided to measure their superhero too!

Our last job was to label our superhero or decide on its superpower!

Reception had a tiring time in the hall this morning doing our fun fitness circuit!

Reception have been exploring different shapes by making shape toast! We talked about the different features of the shapes, cut the shapes into the toast and then the best bit of all - we ate it!!

Reception are being artists this morning, looking closely at the fruit and veg and drawing what they can see. What fantastic drawings!

Mash, mash and more mash!

The children have enjoyed mashing the potatoes, noticing the changes in texture. There might have been a sneaky lick or two too!

This morning we will be peeling, cutting and boiling some potatoes, ready to mash them later! We will then use the mash to make food models!

RRH have really enjoyed spending time in our new Roleplay area today. We have been writing price tags, shopping lists and taking money from other children to pay for the shopping.

Why are carrots orange?

Reception started their new topic today, all about fruit and vegetables! 

We had a large selection of fruit and vegetables for the children to investigate. We will be using our senses to touch, taste and smell the different foods.
