This week Reception have been learning all about the effects litter has within our environment. Living so close to the beach, it was very sad to hear how the animals that live in the ocean can become very poorly, as well as the wildlife within our community. We all agreed we didn't think it made our streets look very nice either.
We had lots of discussions about what we could do to help the environment, before heading out to observe what litter was around our school community. We were very shocked and decided to help clean it up.
Just look at all the litter and rubbish we collected during a quick walk around the streets near our school! We then talked about how we could help people remember to put their rubbish in the bin and not litter. Some amazing ideas we thought of were to tell people, show them by making sure we do it ourselves and making posters to help people remember why it is important.
